Leader, A True Genius!
All over the globe there are billions of companies, some are small yet some are big and some are very big, you really can’t figure out the size of the company as some work under the same roof while some have split units. Anyway, the size of the organization doesn’t matter unless its giving good returns on the investment or earning profits for the company. What drives everyone to work in harmony or get the unified results, there are varied reasons to it may be due to management policies, the type of work, the understanding of workers and the most important the commandment of a leader. A leader is the one who guides them all to work and achieve targets. A person may make or wreck a company, whoever said it, said it so true, the management of a company should be given to a person who is good at managerial skills and not the one counting on his experience.
Its been a long, this matter has been under scrutiny of experts whether the seniors may be given upper hand position or the one who has less experience or number of years but with very good managerial skills. Although, some of them in fact most of them argue it should be given as per the seniority factor and not on his skills. This matter has 50-50% yes and no, and I think the argument will never come to an end, as both are right in their own way. An organization is a non-living entity, filled with living entities each one having a purpose to survive and prove their work in front of the seniors and also to bring goodwill to an organization. Taking the example of Colonel Paul Yingling, he was a truth teller in his field and guided the army in a very powerful, each of his words and sentences sent across a very powerful message that indeed turned the expected results for good.
Leadership doesn’t develop in a single day, it’s a gradual process which builds in to a real powerful cumulative process and the leader’s objectives become like his daily functions, everything happens or whatever he does happens naturally, the leadership quotient grows in his blood and gets ready to shoot out whenever the need be. A position of a leader might sound very luxurious and people may be under the wrong pretext that he gives orders and there is no work for them, this is completely wrong as leaders do as much work and take efforts as much we do or may be even more. You cannot see that through naked eyes, it all goes on in brain and function from inner departments, morally speaking, a leader’s work starts where your work gets over. The idea of making someone a leader is good, but it should be able to grow in that person as time passes, and he should be adaptive to the challenging environment in the outside world.
The people who know that someone is going to be leader in the next few years should encourage them to develop habits like that of a leader and think in a particular manner, so the younger leaders should be allowed to make decisions – they will themselves know whether it’s a right decision or wrong one as the time will move on. This is a learning stage, and anything can go wrong, the important thing is for them to decide, take decision, stumble, recover and move on and one day become powerful to always take the right decisions. If you know something is wrong with the decision, you can give certainly give your feedback to the person with proper reasons for the set back, to follow the path righteous ness is not difficult so it is best to follow the advice of Jamie Dimon who states that it is best to prepare for all kinds of weather, we never know what the weather will be so get prepared for that.
In the end I just want to advice to young leaders that you might go wrong sometimes, not every day is field’s day. Grow from your mistakes and move ahead, develop your skills and innovate and contribute to your company in a meaningful productive way. Allow people to feel free rather than letting them take risky decision, plan everything in advance.
